A novel portraying the lives of victims in the village of Enmakaje in Kasaragod, focusing on the suffering caused by endosulfan pesticide. Through the character Neelakandan, it depicts local hardship, social neglect and environmental damage. The book drew national and international attention to the endosulfan issue and contributed to movements against the pesticide.
Mangad is best known for his novel 'Enmakaje' which highlighted the victims of endosulfan poisoning and helped draw attention to environmental and social justice issues. As a writer, teacher and activist, he has influenced awareness and advocacy around pesticide harms in his region.
