Legacy
Estonian writer known for numerous books and the script for the highly successful film Viimne reliikvia, an adaptation of Eduard Bornhöhe's Vürst Gabriel ehk Pirita kloostri viimsed päevad. Signatory of the Letter of 40 Intellectuals in 1980 protesting Russification. Elected to Riigikogu in 1992.
