A poetry anthology compiled by Xu Ling and others, containing short narrative and lyrical poems reflecting Southern dynasties' customs and sentiments; includes famous pieces such as "Peacock Flies Southeast."
The Chen dynasty, as the last of the Southern dynasties, revitalized southern China's economy and culture and left a legacy through Chen family members in the Sui and Tang courts. It is regarded as one high point of Southern-dynasty culture in literature and arts.
