Two-volume novel autobiographically shaped, following Werner Holt from Nazism through Luftwaffenhelfer and Wehrmacht to the beginnings of Socialism.
Best known for the two-volume novel Die Abenteuer des Werner Holt, which sold over two million copies and was filmed and included in East German school curriculum. Known as a loyal supporter of the SED and Stasi informer.
