Legacy

Pierre Seghers was both a poet and an influential editor/anthologist who significantly promoted contemporary French poetry. During WWII he compiled and published poets of the Resistance; after the war his Poètes d'aujourd'hui series introduced many poets. He received honors including the Légion d'honneur and an honorary doctorate from the University of St Andrews. A retrospective exhibition was held at the Musée du Montparnasse in 2011.
