Legacy

Ramadevi was a leader in women's emancipation and social reform in Orissa (now Odisha), deeply involved in the independence movement, Harijan welfare and the Bhoodan movement. She is commemorated by the Rama Devi Women's University (which houses a museum) and several schools and welfare institutions she founded continue to serve local communities.
