A Los Angeles–based mentorship and creative writing workshop program for teenage girls. Professional women writers provide one-on-one mentoring and monthly workshops across poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, screenwriting and other genres to promote creative skills and self-expression.
Since its founding in 2001, WriteGirl has contributed to creative education and empowerment by connecting professional women writers with teenage girls. Alumni include notable figures such as Amanda Gorman, and the organization is recognized in community and arts-education circles.
Our mission is to empower young women through self-expression.
