Description
The Crotone Prize (Premio Crotone) was an Italian literature prize established on April 4, 1952, at the initiative of Silvio Messinetti, mayor of Crotone. The first award ceremony was held in 1956, and it continued until its final edition in 1963 due to financial and operational issues, with prominent jurors such as Ungaretti and Moravia participating, functioning as one of the important prizes in Italian literature. Winners included Leonida Repaci, Leonardo Sciascia (Leonardo Sciascia as per original English notation), Pier Paolo Pasolini (1959 award withdrawn), and others.
