Description

The Erich Fried Prize (Erich-Fried-Preis) is an annual literary award established in memory of the Austrian poet Erich Fried. It is awarded by the Vienna-based International Erich Fried Society, with the prize fund provided by the Austrian Federal Chancellery. The society's board selects one juror annually, who nominates the winner for that year. Selection is by recommendation (nomination) rather than open call. It is predominantly awarded to writers and poets in the German-speaking world.
