Description

The Juhan Smuul literary award is an Estonian literary prize. It was first given from 1970; from 1972 it bore the name of the Estonian writer Juhan Smuul. The award was given until the beginning of the 1990s and was resumed in 1995 under the new name Eesti Kultuurkapital kirjanduse sihtkapitali aastapreemia (Estonian Cultural Endowment Annual Literary Endowment Award). The prize has multiple categories (e.g. best prose, best poetry, best children's literature) and is associated with the Estonian Cultural Endowment.
