Description
The Kresnik Award was established in 1991 to select the best Slovenian-language novel published in the previous year and is awarded annually. The award ceremony is usually held on the summer solstice, with the tradition of the winner lighting a large bonfire on Roznik Hill near Ljubljana. Organized by the national newspaper Delo, a monetary prize is awarded to the winner.
