Description
The Storylines Margaret Mahy Medal and Lecture Award (commonly the Margaret Mahy Award) is presented annually by the Storylines Children's Literature Charitable Trust of New Zealand to an individual who has made a significant contribution to children's literature, publishing or literacy. The Saturday closest to International Children's Book Day is designated 'Margaret Mahy Day' when the award is presented. The recipient delivers the Margaret Mahy Lecture, which is subsequently published in the trust's yearbook, The Inside Story.
