Description

The Ovid Prize is an international literary award established in 2002 to comprehensively honor the author's achievements. Organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute and Romanian Writers' Union, recipients are nominated and selected by the festival's jury. The award ceremony is held at the Days and Nights of Literature festival (June) in Neptun and Mangalia. The main prize is €10,000. The Ovid Festival Prize (€5,000) was established in the same year, its commission was changed in 2007, and since 2008 it has been awarded to outstanding young talents. In 2012, it was canceled due to funding shortages.
