説明

The Vishnupuram Award is operated by the literary organization Vishnupuram Ilakkiya Vattam, founded by writer Jeyamohan and his readers, and named after Jeyamohan's novel "Vishnupuram." Established in 2010, it aims particularly to honor pioneering and elderly Tamil writers who have been undervalued. Winners receive a cash prize (Rs 100,000) and a memento, and often the publication of books about the winner and production/release of documentaries. The award ceremony is mainly held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu State.
