Following the shocking revelations of DARK DAYS, get ready for the fifth instalment of the bestselling Skulduggery Pleasant series – guaranteed to contain at least 40% humour, 50% action, and 100% thrills… "The blonde girl with the black lips turned to Valkyrie. 'We know,' she said. 'We've seen the future. We know you're going to kill the world…'" Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain are back – just in time to see their whole world get turned upside down… While they struggle to protect a known killer from an unstoppable assassin, Valkyrie is on a secret mission of her own. This quest, to prevent her dark and murderous destiny, threatens to take her to the brink of death and beyond. And then the body-snatching Remnants get loose, thousands of twisted souls who possess the living like puppets, and they begin their search for a being powerful enough to lead them. Facing such insurmountable odds, Skulduggery, Valkyrie, Ghastly and Tanith can trust no one. Not even each other…
Derek Landy lives near Dublin. Before writing his children's story about a sharply-dressed skeleton detective, he wrote the screenplays for a zombie movie and a murderous horror film. "I think my career-guidance teacher is spinning in her grave," he says, "or she would be if she were dead."

Derek Landy has done it again!
Title says all. This is the fith book in Mr. Landy's "Skulduggery Pleasant" series, and, I must say, it is spectacular just as I expected. I read one review that said that; "...Suffice it to say that this is NOT a book for children and even younger teens. I would say that a mature 16 year old would be the youngest that should read this book. Although if I had a teenager who wanted to read this book or any that follow (for a total of 9 books according to the author), I would be worried why they wanted to. So if anyone over 16-18 years wants a horror genre book filled with offensive, disturbing material and a unrelenting descent into depressing darkness & gratuitous violence; well at least you were warned." This is untrue. I am younger than 16, and so is a friend of mine that reads these books as well, and we both enjoy the books very much. I've seen no offensive, disturbing material in this book, and many television shows and video games are much more violent than Derek Landy's work. Overall an amazing book. I'd give it more than five stars if I was able.
