North to the Orient (Harbrace Paperbacks Library) (Harvest Book)
Anne Morrow Lindbergh turns her 1931 flight to the Far East into a delicate travel narrative about route, landscape, and cultural surprise. The aviation experience itself becomes a form of reflective literature.
Work Information
A journey through the air opens the eye to unfamiliar worlds.
From an era when air travel was still exceptional, this early work combines the sensation of travel with inward reflection. Landscape, family, and distance are joined by a quiet, lucid prose style.

Gift from the Sea (PANTHEON BOOKS)

Anne Morrow Lindbergh is a gifted writer
I've read several of Anne Lindbergh's books including "Listen the Wind" and "Bring Me a Unicorn." I bought this book to learn more of their flight to Japan and China. Anne was a practical lady performing navigation and radio operator duties from the back seat of the Lockheed Sirrus they were flying. It is a good insight to aviation of that era.

bought for the wife- she loved it
My wife was doing research on Charles Lindbergh and came across a book about Anne Lindbergh. She was interested in how controlling and demanding Charles was but how accepting and triumphant Anne was. Then she found out there were books written by Anne and indicated she wanted to read one. She liked this book so she is now looking for others. They are hard to find since they are no longer published. My wife recommends this book if you are interested in how Anne was able to overcome learning how to fly, how to navigate and how to work with Charles

Anne Morrow Lindbergh would, I feel, have been ...
Anne Morrow Lindbergh would, I feel, have been a successful, published writer eventually even if she had never married Charles Lindbergh. This book, of course, is about one of her trips with him, so it is doubly interesting. She writes extremely well. It is still worth reading and reflecting on people's adventures to see what motivated them to try and what they did to succeed once they had the idea.
