If you’re a Bay Area person and/or an Asian American or someone just interested in Asian American and Oakland history pre-WWII, you will be interested in this book of short stories about Japanese American life in Oakland during the ‘30s. I loved reading it.

Toshio is such a gifted in crafting relatable short stories. His writing captivates and also educates. I think our high school curriculum should include his writings.
