Despite the scorn of the other boys in Room 8 about the assignment to care for their "flour babies"--bags of flour that must be kept dry, mud-free, and safe from harm--Simon, a clumsy misfit, begins to enjoy caring for his "baby."

Reviews

  • I can't believe I found a copy.

I read an OLD copy of this book year's ago. One day I was singing "Come Sail Away..." and shared that it reminded me of a book I had read years and year back about a teenage boy having to take care of a flour baby. I google it and I found it on Amazon!! LOVE it! I enjoyed it even more again - even though I found out that the song referenced in this book is not even "Come Sail Away..." LOL
