Anne Enright is the author of eight novels, most recently The Wren . She has been awarded the Man Booker Prize and the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, and was named the inaugural Laureate for Irish Fiction. In 2022, Enright was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Irish Book Awards. She lives and works in Dublin.

Se mi chiedessero di mostrare la lista dei libri che considero i più belli da me letti nel corso delle varie fasi della mia vita, vi troverebbero senza dubbio The Green Road. E il posto che il libro occuperebbe, sarebbe indubbiamente uno dei posti d'onore. Ho amato, sofferto e goduto la lettura di questo romanzo tanto da desiderare di comunicare con l'autrice. La costruzione è perfetta. I protagonisti tutti. Nessuno al secondo posto. Primo fra tutti: la famiglia, o forse la stessa Strada Verde, che è di per sé una famiglia, un paese, una cultura. Drammatico e a tratti ironico. Distaccato, ma completamente "dentro".

Uma bela história sobre os conflitos familiares numa Irlanda sempre muito emocional. A figura central da matriarca vai crescendo no decorrer da história e nos conquista rapidamente.

Interesting characters
Really lovely writing and an engrossing story. The ending was a bit abrupt but seemed to fit the context of the characters lives. I can see why it was shortlisted for the Booker.
