In the fifth Royal Spyness Mystery, Lady Georgiana Rannoch discovers that being a minor royal has its privileges when she visits the glamorous—and dangerous—French Riviera… London, 1933 . Her Majesty the Queen is sending Georgie off to Nice with a secret assignment—to recover her priceless, stolen snuff box from the disreputable Sir Toby Groper. Her Majesty’s trust is an honor, but an even greater honor is bestowed upon Georgie in Nice when none other than Coco Chanel asks her to model the latest fashions. Unfortunately, things go disastrously wrong on the catwalk and before Georgie can snatch the snuff box, someone’s life is snuffed out in a very dastardly way. With a murderer on the loose—and Georgie's beau Darcy seen in the company of another woman—how’s a girl to find any time to go to the casino?

Rhys Bowen , a New York Times bestselling author, has been nominated for every major award in mystery writing, including the Edgar®, and has won many, including both the Agatha and Anthony awards. She is the author of the Royal Spyness Mysteries, set in 1930s London, the Molly Murphy Mysteries, set in turn-of-the-century New York, and the Constable Evans Mysteries, set in Wales. She was born in England and now divides her time between Northern California and Arizona.

  • Divine Chanel meets charming Georgie

Fall!

  • Naughty in Nice

  • Georgie brings it home to England!

Rhys Bowen has style and a host of characters she carries from one story to another. She weaves the familiar persons of interest into an exciting new story line accomplishing a fresh, new experience for each reader. It is truly like being one of Georgie’s companions who pop up throughout her adventures! This book is another of Bowen’s winners! On task for the Queen, she leaves London, England into a hunt for a valuable missing necklace. Appearing to be traveling in style, thanks to the Queen’s generosity, and a known cousin to the Crown, Georgie blends into the realm of society throughout the continent as her cover. She follows clues and leads provided by Queen Mary, and as usual, she comes across adventure, danger and mysterious romance. I recommend this book if you enjoy a mystery that gives you clues and leads along the way but always seems to have enough twists and turns to keep you turning pages to see what happens in the next chapter! Enjoy!

  • Fun easy read

Georgie is one of my favourite characters, I look forward to reading about her latest adventures, it never fails to make me chuckle and sometimes laugh out loud, which causes some strange looks when you're reading on the bus to work. The latest installment puts Georgie in the South of France where she meets up with her mother and the famous fashion designer Coco Chanel. The story moves along at a perfect pace, and left me flipping through pages quickly to find out what exactly was going on. Does Georgie have a double, or perhaps it was a clever disguise? Will Georgie be put in jail, or will Queen Mary put a stop to it? Then of course there was another possible love interest for George in this book, though I must admit after a rocky start, I'm starting to like Darcy, I found him arrogant at first but as the series has gone on I find that he's not so bad. As always in the end everything sorts itself out, but in the meantime it was a lot of fun to sit back, relax and visit Georgie's world of 1930's Europe.
