Amazingly exquisite drawings of the early frontier by James Daugherty, illustrator and author, of an historically accurate biography of Daniel Boone. This book makes you feel like you are a pioneer braving the Indians, forests, and mountains on the difficult trail to Kentucky. I love this book. It gives a real look at the courage, hard work, happiness, and heartbreak of living on the isolated frontier where anything could happen, and often did. Being miles from civilization, the brave pioneers had to face whatever trials arose with the knowledge that no help from the outside world could arrive for months in times of crisis. The life of Daniel Boone has many surprising and exciting events in store for the reader.
