Reviews

  • great read

Great read written by a sharp author

  • One of world's best

An entertaining and impressive reading session by TC Boyle brought me to start with his work by reading "World's End". With him being such a witty and silver-tongued person, my expectations were high, and they were totally fulfilled. I agree that the first chapters were tough to get through, due to the amount of characters, the switches between centuries and also the amount of plots running parallely. But do stick to it and you will be rewarded by a fascinating puzzle being put together into one fantastic picture towards the end of the book. This entanglement of strands, that never turn boring within themselves, is simply brilliant and suggests hard work with much attention to detail. To me, there wasn't a single moment of less suspense in this book, which indeed is not the shortest one. I highly, highly recommend it to everybody with affection for intelligent plots and, not least, wonderfully rich language. Kristin Hogk, HoRa-Translations
