A must have for any child
This is hands down one of the best children's books ever written. I bought it for my own three year old daughter and have given it as a gift to all my nephews and nieces. It is hilarious, well illustrated, and has one of the best story lines of all time. It has a great moral message about friendships and making mistakes. I've read this book countless times to my kids and it never gets old. It is a must have for any child's library.

Animal & plane loving toddler appeal
I bought this book to read to an aeroplane-obsessed 2 yr old boy. It has just a few simple words, which mostly go over a toddler's head (about Rabbit being a bit of a fool) so you have to ad-lib. It's a very very simple story - to sum up, a mouse gets a toy plane for a gift, rabbit flies it into a tree, he then piles all the jungle animals up in a heap to try and reach it. They fall down, along with the plane with Mouse in it, and are pissed off with Rabbit, who is saved by Mouse flying the plane back to pick him up and zoom him....back into the same tree. It's mildly amusing. Apart from pointing out all the pictures of the plane, the 2 yr old hasn't really gone for this story much. It's almost too simple. And I think the animals being piled up and falling down seems a bit silly and pointless?

Great Book For Baby Signing
This great book with excellent illustrations was a favorite for both of my boys. We did Baby Sign Language from birth and my friend rabbit is a fun book for teaching and reinforcing the animal signs. Before my son could speak from about about 16 months on he would tell this story in sign language, explaining how the animals would stack, it was a lot of fun! I recommend the "Signing Times" DVD called "Zoo Train" and "Great Outdoor" which teaches you the animal signs you can use with the book.

A gem for any home library !
We just got this book in the mail today based purely on the fact that it got some many five star reviews and it was the medal winner. I opened the book on my own to make sure it was age apporaite for my 3 and half year old son -- I ended up laughing out loud ! This book is simple, whimsy, clever and about friendship. The art draws the reader in and makes very excellent use of the page. Today alone we've read the book three times!
