…not only with the love you would expect from a daughter: but with a keen, lyrical (and mostly objective) eye and way with words: summing up Ashby’s role in trying to improve the lot of the agricultural worker in Warwickshire; as well as detailing an important part of Tysoe’s recent history. One of the best books I have read in a long time: scholarly, engaging, intellectual, emotional… and gripping.
