Excellent Book!!!
Excellent book, the only thing it makes me sad so much work was done to help advance women's rights and is like we have travel back in time to when this book was put together. Many things have changed but so very little progress, this book is a must for many not only women but anyone that wants to listen what is like to be a women, but especially a women of color.

A classic, groundbreaking feminist of color anthology!
This is such an important anthology of writings by radical women of color on the politics of race, gender, class and sexual orientation. Though it is more than two decades old, the essays and poetry are still ispirational and relevant. Indeed, I strongly feel that this is a book that every feminist should read. That said, I am utterly baffled by how difficult it is to obtain. Could it really be out of print? If so, I hope (hint, hint) that some progressive publishing company like AK Press, South End Press, or Seal re-prints it. I would hate to think of it disappearing into the dustbin of history.

A reminder of the power of voice...
I needed a book for a workshop and this one fit the bill. I have a few books on my shelf that are related to the diversity struggle, but none dive into the topic of women and culture like this one. The voices are raw and full of pain and power. It is a must-have for anyone working in the field of diversity or living in a diverse world (yes, that means it is a must for everyone).
