Work Information
A smile in Washington Square opens into a deliberately playful novel.
Raymond Federman's Smiles on Washington Square begins with Moinous and Sucette meeting and then unsettles both the shape of their relationship and the structure of the narrative itself. Intimacy and uncertainty cross paths as the book's formal play sharpens the feel of the love story.
