Why Marry?

Jesse Lynch Williams

A three-act play that brings the contradictions of marriage into focus through sharp exchanges between characters with different values. Its wit turns love, freedom, and social respectability into a pointed satire of the era's assumptions.

Reviews

  • It was not clear to me that this was a play

An old-fashioned play that would probably work better on the stage than in written form. The short description gave no details, I had expected to find a non-fiction essay on the subject.
