• I think Glen Hirshberg is the best ghost story writer of his generation and, if any proofs were needed, his new collection would testify of that. The Janus Tree and Other stories is a real hit. Reading this book, you will notice that Mr. Hirshberg is a true creator capable of creating strong atmosphere, belivable characters and great stories. In literature you can find imitators or real masters, writers who really bring someting to you. And Glen Hirshberg is definitly a real master of his art, to be compared with his elders such as Robert Aickman and Peter Straub. Mr. Hirshberg is not a follower, you can notice his pen on the first paragraph and he always brings you to the unexpected. That is to say that The Janus tree and other stories is a collection not to be missed full of brilliant stories. I should add that the book includes 2 never published before novelettes that are pure gems of disconfort reminding a bit of Robert Aickman as if this British writer has written today. In a word, Glen Hirshberg is a master of horror to be followed by readers who look for intelligent stories challanging their brains. Thanks, Glen for writing so well.
