Argues that evidence introduced by the prosecution in the Branion murder trial proves that Dr. Branion, convicted of murdering his wife, could not possibly have done so

This true crime book was excellent! It was indeed difficult to put down! The crime is an old one from 1967 before investigators had many of today's scientific advances. The man accused of killing his wife was a young African American doctor during the days of civil rights upheavals. The police, the prosecutors, the judges and the jurors were all extremely prejudice against the doctor. The results are just unbelievable!. The book covers a time span of 20-25 years. Once I began reading I just couldn't put it down! I found myself "planning" to stop at the beginning of the next chapter (so I could get some sleep) but once I got to the next logical stopping point I found myself continuing to read, time and time again. At times the story would become a little confusing with so many people and things happening but I never wanted to stop reading. This is a great book for all true crime buffs who also like a mystery. Don't miss out on this one! You won't regret reading it! Great job!!

An great read. Truth is stranger than fiction. The ins and outs of this so called trial and consequences are just incredible. The justice system is really a joke.

What a sad story, Doctor John Branion spent most of his life trying to clear his name, for something he never did. The trial was way to detailed and repeated too much. The police did not do their job, they took the easy way out by sticking the guilt back on the doctor. Doctor John Branion should have been able to do his job, not fight the system. So sad it took forever to finally clear his name, and the worst part his wife Donna died and no one will find out who killed her. The police even back then, never did the job they were supposed to do, another breakdown in the system,so wrong.

This book is very slow reading and losing interest came very quickly. I find not finish it.

Somewhat compelling story but the book could have been much shorter. Much of it was a repeat of the facts of the case with different versions based on the viewpoint of the characters. I found myself skipping over many paragraphs late in the book to avoid the repetition.
