Premio Planeta de Novela (Planeta Novel Prize)
Pequeño teatro
A novel that follows growth and loneliness, and the border between fantasy and reality, through the eyes of children and young people. Its poetic prose and melancholy tone quietly bring out the atmosphere of place and the subtle shifts in the characters' feelings.
Work Information
Within a world where fantasy and reality overlap, a child's gaze gently illuminates the story.
The novel retains the freshness of an early work, yet layers loneliness, desire, and the sensation of lives moved like a stage play. It feels fantastical, but the pressures of family and community remain vividly present.
Review Summaries
-
Its poetic narration and sense of fantasy are appreciated, while the strength of its symbolism and emotional shifts make it a matter of taste for some readers.
