La leggerezza di un rapporto pesante madre - figlio
Avevo letto questo libro più di 40 anni fa, alla sua uscita quando vinse il Premio Strega. L'ho riletto in questi giorni con il gruppo di lettura con cui collaboro da tre anni su Twitter. Devo ammettere che Lalla Romano non è fra le mie scrittrici preferite. In questo libro mi è piaciuta la descrizione del figlio. Un ragazzo apparentemente disadattato, anomalo. In realtà molto geniale. Di una genialità surreale, naif. Mi è piaciuto meno l'atteggiamento della madre e talora mi è risultata pesante la lettura di alcuni passi. Certamente resta un romanzo da leggere per comprendere i rapporti familiari in particolare momento storico.

Lalla Romano non è una scrittrice attuale ma nei suoi romanzi scarni e apparentemente monotoni (come le fotografie in bianco e nero della stessa autrice) riesce ad andare all'essenziale della vita e dei rapporti familiari.
