• Review of Venture into the interior.

  This book is extremely well written and provides a view of Africa as experienced by an author who is sympathetic to both the indigenous and immigrant inhabitants of the continent.

  Je connaissais déjà ce livre qui est une petite merveille d'intelligence. J'avais dû le prêter u le donner à quelqu'un, c'est pourquoi j'ai dû le racheter.

• Sublime writer

  Laurens van der Post is my favorite writer. He writes with such love...love of the earth, love of nature, love of animals, love of plant life, love of humanity...love of life. And he had a very sensitive antenna for eddies of feeling both from without and especially within himself and within our society.

  You need to be good in English

• New writer for me.

  I had heard of the competence of the author; a great read. Descriptions of the scenes are enchanting. The story line is fascinating.
