Selected Poems (Modern European Poets S.)

-
Gunnar Ekelof - toward the end of his career - approximated a purity of style with: simple language and highly intense, historically, philosophically, and theologically aware symbolism. This yielded an amazing translatability. His poems speak to the universal unconscious and their elegance and beauty is a testament to a lifetime spent in search and manifestation. To say he is a neglected poet is truly correct, since many less translatable poets find their voice in many more languages across the world! These selections are a treat, forming part of the "Byzantine Tryptich". Three spooky volumes of incredibly lovely and gorgeous writing any library would do well to have! Highly recommended!!!!
