Lovely, moving novel
This was a really good read, especially if you're interested in Latin American fiction. It's moving, sad, and soulful. I would read it again.

Fanstastic book!
Through an exploration of the political circumstances of El Salvador we meet an array of characters all who mirror the utter suffering of their country. Limón introduces of to Luz Delcano, who by a series of unfortunate events, flees her country, traveling to Nicaragua, Mexico and finally reaching Los Angeles. Particular attention should be paid to Luz's representation of the Mater Dolorosa because the tail is told with symbolism of religion playing a crucial part. The story itself is modeled after the tale of Cain and Able. The story is honest and it times highly graphical of the violence that the characters endure. Expect to feel as if you've joined Luz Delcano in this search that will provide the reader a new perspective on the realities facing the Latin American part of the continent.
