All The Men I Never Married is the highly anticipated second collection by Kim Moore. The author portrays relationships with a passionate realism that encompasses complicity and ambiguity, violence and tenderness, and an understanding of the layers of complexity and complicity that exist between men and women.

Kim Moore's debut collection The Art of Falling won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. She also won a New Writing North Award in 2014, an Eric Gregory Award in 2011, and the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize in 2012. In 2020 she was chosen as a judge for the National Poetry Competition and the Forward prizes. She has a doctorate from Manchester Metropolitan University in Poetry and Everyday Sexism and is co-director of the Kendal Poetry Festival.

レビュー

  • Excellent poetry

A wonderful collection of poems all fitting and following the title of the book, varying from thought-provoking to amusing to poignant.

  • Stunning

Piercing, lyrical observations on time, love, loss and relationships. Searing and vital.

  • Gorgeous little book

A gorgeous book to hold with fabulous cover art and beautiful poems inside. Enjoyed reading this from start to finish as the poems made sense this way but there are some personal favourites I will return to on their own. Dark but often funny and definitely thought provoking, this collection looks at issues such as revenge porn, desire and coming of age. Not normally a poetry reader but heard about this book and will definitely by this author.

  • Wonderful.

I admire the gumption of the poetry here. It's searingly honest and insistent, holding back little. And yet it rarely overwhelms. It hits an envious line between beautiful storytelling and pointed, agonising criticism.

  • Stunning sequence of poems

Incredibly good sequence that positively reminded me of Carol Ann Duffy's epic sequence and 'feminist gospels' in her collection The World's Wife.
