• Capolavoro

Capolavoro assoluto. Scrittura splendida descrittiva e introspettiva.

• Magnifique

A lire et relire. Absolument génial

• An incredible view of German occupation

The story is tragic with some hilarious references but having read it in French, the writing is so beautiful that some chapters (the cat's excursion outdoors) stand on their own as pure poems. Couldn't help but reread many of them. BTW this was my second reading of this novel; I read it when it came out and the magnificient BBC movie (on Netflix) sent me back to it.
