Emmanuelle Salasc (formerly Pagano) is recognized as a contemporary French writer known for lyrical, poetic prose and works that address nature and isolation. She has received multiple awards including the European Union Prize for Literature, and her books have been translated into over a dozen languages. In recent years she has published under her birth name Salasc.
