Legacy

Dağlarca is one of the foremost poets of the Republic of Turkey, prolific with more than 60 collections. His linguistic purism and grand themes had a strong influence on modern Turkish poetry; he was also internationally recognized, including as a laureate of the Struga Poetry Evenings Golden Wreath.

Trivia

  • By 2007 he had published more than 60 collections of poems.
  • Died in Istanbul in October 2008 and was buried at Karacaahmet Cemetery.
