A poetry collection using simple language to depict everyday life and social themes. It won the Odakkuzhal Award (1980) and the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Poetry (1981).
A landmark Malayalam film often associated with social realism. Co-directed with Ramu Kariat, it was among the first Malayalam films to receive national recognition.
P. Bhaskaran was a major poet, lyricist and film director in Malayalam literature and cinema. He wrote over 3,000 songs for around 250 films, directed 44 feature films, and received numerous honors including the J. C. Daniel Award from the Government of Kerala.
He was well known for the simple use of language in his songs and poems.
