A non-fiction account of the 2008 K2 disaster told from the perspectives of Sherpas and Pakistani high-altitude porters. Co-authored with Amanda Padoan, the book emphasizes local testimony and explores the structures and cultural tensions of high-altitude mountaineering.
Zuckerman is recognized for both investigative reporting and adventure non-fiction. His work exposing abuse within the Boy Scouts and his book on the K2 disaster have had impact in journalism and mountaineering literature.
"Easily the most riveting and important mountaineering book of the past decade."
