Description
The National Outdoor Book Award (NOBA) is a nonprofit program established in 1997 that annually honors outstanding works in outdoor literature and publishing. It is based at Idaho State University and chaired by Ron Watters. There are multiple categories (13 categories as of this article). Winning works are promoted nationally and granted the right to display a gold medallion. Since 2021, traditional honorable mentions have been replaced by Silver Medals, which may be awarded to the top two works if the score difference is narrow. Winners are announced in early November each year.
