The Nestlé Smarties Book Prize (also known as the Nestlé Children's Book Prize for part of its history) was an annual British children's book award administered by BookTrust and sponsored by Nestlé that ran from 1985 to 2007. It recognised books in three age categories (0–5, 6–8 and 9–11). Eligible books were by UK citizens or residents and published during the preceding year. Shortlists were selected by adult judges; final placings (gold/silver/bronze in each category) were determined by votes from selected schoolchildren. The prize was discontinued in 2008 by mutual agreement between BookTrust and Nestlé.
