Description

The Premio de Novela Ciudad de Torrevieja is a literary award established in 2001 by Torrevieja City (Ayuntamiento de Torrevieja) and publisher Plaza & Janés, targeting unpublished Castilian-language full-length novels. The grand prize is €360,607, an extremely high amount, and from 2004 to 2009, the runner-up received €125,000. Judging is conducted by a committee consisting of Plaza & Janés' Editor-in-Chief (Nuria Tey), the Mayor of Torrevieja, and writers/critics that change annually, with the winning work usually announced in September. Entries are open to Spanish speakers worldwide, primarily from Spain and Latin America.
