Description

Queensland Premier's Literary Awards were established in 1999 by the Premier of Queensland and discontinued in 2012. It was a suite of Australian literary awards. At inception, there were 14 categories awarding a total of 225,000 AUD (up to approx. 25,000 AUD per category highest prize), incorporating existing awards such as the Steele Rudd Award and David Unaipon Award. After discontinuation, the Queensland Literary Awards were established by the local community, inheriting the judging system and some publishing support (Source: Wikipedia).
