Description
The Shirley Jackson Award was established to honor the achievements of novelist Shirley Jackson, recognizing outstanding works published in the previous year in the fields of psychological suspense, horror, and dark fantasy. Winners are announced at Readercon (annual convention for imaginative literature), judged by a panel consisting of writers, editors, critics, and scholars, with the advisory board involved in operations. The inaugural awards were announced on July 20, 2007.
