Breathtaking
I'm in the process of relocating to the Detroit area and someone there mentioned the works of Philip Levine to me. I began reading his poetry because of the Detroit connection, but above that I fell in love with his voice because his poetry is breathtakingly insightful, powerful and tender. I can't recommend this book or this poet enough. He is a master.

Early Levine
One of Levin's early volumes. I found it a bit private in its verses. I would try a later volume if you are new to Mr. Levine's poetry.
