Sharon Creech is an American writer of children's novels who gained international recognition for Walk Two Moons (Newbery Medal, 1995) and Ruby Holler (Carnegie Medal, 2002). She was among the first American-born authors to win the Carnegie Medal and is notable for being one of the authors to have won both the Newbery and Carnegie Medals. Her lyrical prose and emotionally resonant stories have had a lasting impact on contemporary children's literature.
