Legacy
Siddalingaiah was a pioneer of Dalit literature and activism in Karnataka; through poetry and autobiography he advocated Dalit dignity and cultural affirmation. Though his political positions drew criticism, his literary and social influence is substantial. He received numerous honours, including a posthumous Padma Shri.
