The Pampa Award (Pampa Prashasti) is the highest state literary award for Kannada literature, established in 1987 by the Government of Karnataka (Department of Kannada and Culture). Initially (until 1995), it focused primarily on individual works, but since 1996, it has mainly honored lifetime contributions. The award ceremony is held at Kadambotsava in Banavasi, where the state Chief Minister presents the award. The prize includes cash (increased over time), shawl, certificate, and mementos.
