Description
The Nrupatunga Award is a literary award that recognizes outstanding achievements in Kannada literature in the Indian state of Karnataka. It was established by Kannada Sahitya Parishat and sponsored by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). Established in 2007 to commemorate Rashtrakuta king Nrupatunga Amoghavarsha I, the prize money is ₹700,001. The first award was in 2007, and up to 2022 it has been awarded annually, with a total of 16 confirmed awards as of the time of writing.
